Stegostomatidae - zebra sharks

There is one species in this family of sharks. The zebra shark is found in shallow waters in coral reefs and sandy bottoms of the Indian and Pacific Oceans. It is around 5-6 feet in length. It has a long, slender body, a very long tail that is about the same length as its body, two dorsal fins, and a small mouth. Young zebra sharks have dark bands on their bodies and adults have spots.
