Pink RobinThere are 44 bird species in this family. They are found in Australia, New Zealand, New Guinea, and surrounding areas.

They are small, stocky birds with large, rounded heads; thick necks; small, straight, pointed bills and short, rounded wings. They are found in a variety of habitats including shrublands, forests, and swamps.

Australian robins eat insects, but some species also eat seeds. The birds in this family are not related to New World robins in the Turdidae family or Old World robins in the Muscicapidae family.
