Scott Merrill was an early participant in the New Urbanist town of Seaside, Florida, a small resort town in the Panhandle that marked the beginning of a radical new way of building towns and neighborhoods. Merrill's work blends the ideals of New Urbanism with a sensitivity to American vernacular structures and thoughtful land use that is uniquely of his state.
