NHPTV Translator at Coleman State Park Now Provides NHPTV on Three Digital Channels

(DURHAM – September 27, 2010) – New Hampshire Public Television has activated a new Channel 34 digital translator, W34DQ-D, at our Coleman State Park transmitter site. This DTV translator allows viewers with DTV televisions or DTV converter boxes to view NHPTV’s PRIME HD service in full high-definition on Channel 11.1, our NHPTV PRIME SD standard definition service on Channel 11.2, and provides access to NHPTV EXPLORE on Channel 11.3. NHPTV has applied to the FCC to increase the power output of the Channel 34 translator. However, the approval process is lengthy as it requires approval from both the FCC and the Canadian government. We will continue to operate the existing channel 26 analog translator at that site for some time in the future to allow our viewers in the Pittsburg/Colebrook area time to acquire the necessary equipment to receive the new digital signals.Viewers who have questions or comments about receiving these NHPTV channels should e-mail viewerservices@nhptv.org or call (603) 868-1100 (please leave a message with contact information if calling after business hours).
