New Hampshire PBS Board Chair Jeffrey Gilbert Re-elected to APTS Board of Trustees

DURHAM, NH (February 15, 2021) – America’s Public Television Stations (APTS) announced the election of its new board leaders and board members and the re-election of Jeffrey Gilbert, to the APTS board of trustees.

Currently, Gilbert is chairman of the board of directors of New Hampshire PBS. As a result of his work with public media, Gilbert has been re-elected for a second term on the national board of trustees of American’s Public Television Stations.

“It’s an honor to be serving on the APTS board and to be a part of this national conversation. My almost nine years as chairman of the NHPBS board of governors has given me exceptional insight on how local stations are run. I can take this local point of view and bring it to a national stage that in turn will help other public television stations across America,” says Gilbert.

APTS is a national nonprofit membership organization that works to ensure a strong and financially sound public television system and which helps member stations provide essential public services in education, public safety and civic leadership to the American people.

It also promotes the legislative and regulatory interests of noncommercial television stations at the national level through direct advocacy through grassroots campaigns designed to garner bipartisan political support. The public television system is comprised of 158 licensees operating 356 public television stations across America and serving more than 97 percent of the American people.

The newly-elected board and board leaders are: Andrew Russell, President and CEO of PBS SoCal and KCET in Los Angeles, California, Chair; Susi Elkins, Director of Broadcasting and General Manager of WKAR Public Media at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan, Professional Vice Chair; and David Steward II, Immediate Past Board Chair of Nine PBS in St. Louis, Missouri, Lay Vice Chair.

The newly-elected trustees are: Eric Easter, Lay Trustee of WHUT in Washington, D.C., and Anthony Hayes, Chief Operating Officer and General Manager of New England Public Media in Springfield, Massachusetts.
