NH Humanities Announces CARES Act Grant Program

Applications Available May 1st

New Hampshire Humanities is scheduled to receive $370,200 in CARES Act funds to provide General Operating Support Grants to New Hampshire’s cultural sector. Grants will range in size from $2,500 to $10,000 and are intended for New Hampshire-based humanities and cultural nonprofits and public libraries with annual budgets of $500,000 or less.

Unlike the federal requirements related to our Community Project Grants, CARES Act grants do not require matching contributions from the applicant, nor must the applicant organization register on SAM.gov, the federal System for Awards Management. Applicants DO need to obtain a DUNS number in order to receive funding. All CARES Act funds for cultural organizations must be obligated by October 31st, 2020.

Last week, New Hampshire Humanities went “live” with its CARES Act landing page. The landing page is intended to be a “one stop shop” that contains all the information and application materials a potential applicant might require. Currently, visitors will find a short video by Ken Burns, an infographic, and a link to our Frequently Asked Questions document (FAQ).

The CARES Act General Operating Support Grants application and related materials will be available for download on Friday, May 1st from our CARES Act landing page and we hope to begin making grant awards on or about Friday, May 15th. Grant applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until all monies are committed.
