NHPBS Hanover's W50DP-D Signal Off-Air During Channel Reassignment

(Durham, February 28, 2019) - As of Friday, March 1, 2019, New Hampshire PBS' Hanover channel 50 (W50DP-D channel 50) will be temporarily off the air and change over to its assigned channel 36 (W36FE-D) due to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) mandated channel reassignment to a new frequency.

Only viewers who take New Hampshire PBS channel 50 over-the-air are affected by this move, which could take up to two weeks to complete (weather permitting). This FCC mandate states that NHPBS transfer over from its current channel 50 signal to a newly assigned channel 36 (W36FE-D) signal once the new antenna and equipment are installed.

Once channel 36 (W36FE-D) is on the air, viewers who watch New Hampshire PBS via the Hanover antenna signal will need to rescan their television sets in order to receive the new channel 36 (W36FE-D) and then will be able to receive its five channels (NHPBS, NHPBS  Explore, NHPBS World, NHPBS Create and NHPBS Kids). Viewers with questions or concerns should contact the station at (603) 868-1100 or email themailbox@nhpbs.org.
