Workshops

Workshops are from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at New Hampshire PBS in Durham. Cost is $75 and includes lunch. Educators receive 6 credit hours. Workshops can also be brought to schools as full- or half-day sessions. Cost for a full-day session is $350.00; a half-day session is $200.00. Schools or teacher groups may also book a full- or half-day session at NHPTV, Monday-Saturday, for up to 14 individuals. Lunch is included with a full-day session.

Learn more about video on demand services available to K-12 schools. You will learn about and see
demonstrations of Safari Montage, Power Media, and other video on demand services.

Introduction to Safari Montage
Teachers will learn more about Safari Montage and have the opportunity to see and use some of the video resources offered by the service. SAFARI Montage is a Video-on-Demand Server that comes pre–loaded with 1,000 fully segmented programs from PBS, the BBC, National Geographic, Weston Wood, and WGBH. The server resides in the school and teachers and students can search for videos by grade level, subject, and keyword. In addition to video, the server also has quizzes, teaching materials, and state alignments.

Introduction to Power Media
Learn more about Power Media and have the opportunity to see and use some of the resources offered by the service. Power Media offers 2,200 educational videos, more than 15,500 core concept video clips, 4,000 curriculum-oriented audio files, 25,000 photographs, illustrations, and clip art images, and 5,000 print resources, including standards-based learning objectives. Schools can access resources from Power Media’s server, or download materials to their own server.
