NHPTV Now Available to Dish Network/Echostar Customers

DURHAM, February 11, 2003) - Subscribers to the Dish Network / Echostar satellite service in the greater Boston area can now watch award-winning local programs and the best of PBS on New Hampshire Public Television. Viewers in Strafford, Rockingham, Hillsboro, Cheshire, Merrimack, and Belknap counties in New Hampshire; Windham, VT; and the greater Boston area from Worcester County to the Cape can tune into Channel 8781 and watch NHPTV. Plans for expanding satellite coverage throughout New Hampshire are in the works. The current, three-time winner of the New Hampshire Association of Broadcasters Station of the Year Award, NHPTV boasts a lineup of daily children’s series, news and public affairs coverage, science and nature programs, and arts and performance specials. NHPTV’s schedule includes programs for and about the communities of Northern New England as well as popular offerings from PBS and other national distributors of public television programs. Viewers will see a great line-up of NHPTV programs, including local productions such as: Wildlife Journal, a new program produced with the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department that explores the state’s beautiful natural habitats and its range of outdoor activities, airing Thursdays at 9 p.m. and Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m.; NH Outlook, NHPTV’s 10 p.m. weeknight newsmagazine, which has garnered awards for its coverage of local community issues; and Granite State Challenge, the popular high school quiz show celebrating its 20th anniversary season, airing Mondays at 7:30 p.m. If you ARE a Dish Network / Echostar subscriber but do not receive local stations: Call the Dish Network / Echostar at (800) 333-3474 and request Boston local channels. You will need upgraded equipment but it will be provided at no cost to current customers. If you are NOT a Dish Network / Echostar customer, choose one of the following options: Contact Dish Network / Echostar directly at (800) 333-3474 and arrange for installation. Contact your local Sears or Radio Shack; they are authorized Dish Network installers. Find a satellite installer in the Yellow Pages.
